August 20, 2012, 12:47 pm - Bruce visits Grace Community Church for our latest install
Bruce is on scene with the rest of the Wacky World install crew at Grace Community Church in Fremont, Ohio to transform a formerly bland gym into an underwater paradise!
The install includes a full humpback whale sculpture, a beautiful coral reef, 3D jumping dolphins, 2D Manta rays and custom canvas wallcovering throughout!
Below we've included some pictures of this truly amazing install!

The coral is carved from a block of expandable polystyrene using everything from your basic sculpting tools, all the way up through our signature hotknife and even chainsaws!
Then, the styrofoam is painted using a combination of airbrushing and hand painting. Finally, the sculpture is hard-coated against wear and tear (and if the sculpture is going to be in a place where it is likely to be touched, it is fiberglassed). That's how we get amazingly realistic sculptures like this:

Check out that realistic water reflection on the whale's back. Now, I'm not going to toot my own horn but if it is for our amazing team of artists at Wacky World Studios, I'll be the first to blow the Reveille.
We're also installing these incredible dolphins and manta rays.

The manta rays are actually cleverly disguised soundboards. Once in place, they will help to reduce the echo within Grace Community Church's large gymnasium.
